Alright, sorry guys, it's been really hectic these last couple of days. I can't really find a job, but I've been looking and it's incredibly hard. I've also been to a lot of parties and stuff for the end of the year. There probably will be spoilers for you people who hate them, so beware. Alright, here's my review for Wanted. Go.
Review of "Wanted".
Plot Summary.
The plot is fairly simple. This guy hates his life, then he discovers that he has a "special ability" that allows for him to speed his heart in excess of 400 BPM, which gives him a really ungodly shot of adrenaline, which he can use to "slow things down" and grant him extra time to do things. There's also a plot twist because people lie to each other. Oh, and curving bullets.
The Good.
Alright the story is cliched but it's alright, so I'll put it under good. From the beginning I thought that the guy in the beginning who goes apeshit and kills everybody on the rooftop was his real father, turns out not, oh well. What I don't get is why he went so apeshit, I mean sure, there are guys shooting at you trying to kill you, but do you really have to fucking yell so loud, so attract the attention of all the people from the streets looking up at you wondering if it's God yelling at you? I like the action though, it's good, especially where he runs killing everyone when he breaks into the warehouse with the rats, it's fucking awesome. I also like the slow-motion usage, it's wonderful, and comical.
The Bad.
There's not much bad, but there shouldn't be in the first place if you think about it. I saw it twice, the first time was on release day with my friends, the second time was because of my other friend's birthday party, I didn't want to see it, but he paid for everyone's tickets, and he was my friend, so I naturally went to see it with them. The second time I saw it, I got incredibly bored, this is one of those movies I wouldn't want to watch a second or third time. I feel like Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman did a horrible job with their roles, it just didn't fit them. Fox [Angelina], was so plain, had almost no dialect, and was bloody thin as hell. Sloan [Morgan Freeman] usually never ever portrays a bad person, as you discover he was semi-evil at the end. Also just the curving of the bullets was like a little bit too much. Especially at the end where Fox shoots a bullet that can apparently penetrate over 5 people's skulls without stopping, and continuously going. You see the size of the bullet, and it's puny, not even a half an inch caliber bullet can go that long without stopping. And even so, is there something about Fox's skull that just magically stops the bullet? Why doesn't it continue going after? Although it was boring the second time, I got to see some foreshadows in the movie that I didn't notice, like with the rats and all, and the real father.
My Overall Thoughts.
This would go up into my Action Movies, but I would only watch it when I have friends over who haven't seen it. I'm glad I didn't pay the 10 dollars the second time around, as I wanted to get up and leave, but I stayed in respect to my friend. It's not a movie that keeps you on the edge, but it does entertain you here and there.
My Rating.
I give this decent movie a 7, no more no less, I feel the number is right, and only because I like the idea.
