Necklace, Money, Happy

Things are going great so far. I'm finally managing to save up some money, as I just sold the iPhone 3G, and made money off of working, and I'm going to be selling the iPod Touch too, and hopefully, make some good money off of that. Although I will be losing 200 dollars. I bought it for 350, when it first came out, and I'm selling it for 150 now. Oh well.

If anyone wants an iPod Touch, contact me, at dragonmantek@msn.com, or on AIM, dragonmantek, or on facebook.

I also found my necklace, which is really really a great awesome thing. I've had it for many years, and Lisa, my friend's mother, found it in her car. I'm very grateful for her, and this make me very happy.

I also won an actual game of poker, with money and all. Although I don't feel that good about winning, because I dislike seeing other people lose money like that, I guess it's okay. I would feel horrible cheating people out of money, but then again, they are going in, knowing that they have that risk.

Tomorrow I have a birthday party to go to, and it should be fun. An old friend I haven't really hung out with in a while.

A Night At The Opera

For today, I'm going to be reviewing an album, well, because I feel like it. I'm going to choose a random album, out of my personal collection of over 1500 albums, by shuffling the songs, the song that is chosen, that album, I'll be reviewing.

A Night At The Opera - Queen - 1975
1. Death on Two Legs
2. Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon
3. I'm in Love With My Car
4. You're My Best Friend
5. '39
6. Sweet Lady
7. Seaside Rendezvous
8. The Prophet's Song
9. Love Of My Life
10. Good Company
11. Bohemian Rhapsody
12. God Save The Queen

Background?
This is a pretty popular band, that almost everyone knows. They've done many popular songs, such as You're My Best Friend, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Don't Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Under Pressure, and many other great songs. The band is made up of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. They have quite a number of albums, and most of them are very good. They were voted as one of the best live rock groups ever, and you can't see them perform any more, because of Freddie Mercury's death, but you can pick up a DVD of the concert, and it's great.

Album?
Released in 1975, it topped out at number 4, but stayed on for 9 weeks. It earned Triple Platinum status, and has sold over 3 million worldwide. There are 2 singles on this album, both of which you probably know. You're My Best Friend, and Bohemian Rhapsody. The latter, is probably one of the most famous songs of all time, because everyone knows it, recognizes it, and can sing at least one line of the song. It's great when I'm with some friends sometimes, and I just burst out "Is this the real life?", and friends reply with "Or is it just fantasy?". Great stuff.

Special?
This album in particular has a couple hits on it, and when released was given the title as the most expensive album to be released at the time. This is due to all of the echo effects and precision engineering. When you listen to this album, it sounds very modern, you can hear Freddie Mercuries voice coming out of 5 speakers at once, if you have the right sound system, and it's amazing to listen to. Considering this came out of the 70's, for it's time it was amazing.

Sound?
I personally really like this album, and I think this is the greatest album they have. I absolutely love the drumming, and his sound bouncing off the walls in every direction. It sounds great, because the same tone isn't the same on every instrument for every track, which is usually the case in most albums. The beats are really good, and you can definitely bob your head to this music.

Personal?
I carry this album with me wherever I go, because it's great. This album really put a great impression on me, and it's great to have, especially if you want to just hum or sing along to some great songs. This is definitely on my favorite albums list, because it sounds and feels great.

Score?
I'd have to give this album, an 9 out of 10. I highly recommend listening to this whole album.

Bong time.

This day was a pretty funny day.

It starts with me on the computer, and my father just comes in, asking me "Bijan do you know where I can get a Bong or something?"

I then reply with laughter, and I didn't really know if he was being serious. Naturally, I'm not a smoker, and I don't really know where to get one, but I looked it up online, and saw this place called Daze. I then call up the place, and ask them "Hi, do you have Bongs?", and they just say no, and hang up on me.

Then after that happens, my dad and I, just go out for a drive, to spend some time together. So when we're going back home, I told my dad, "We're going to be passing Daze, if you want to stop by and check it out."

So we go into the place, and there's Bongs and Pipes and Cannabis Chocolate Bars, and Incense, and Grateful Dead stuff. This is a really big stoner place. And there were a couple people in there, who just looked like stoners, and they wanted to buy a small pipe.

Anyway, my dad is looking around in awe of everything he's seeing. I kept telling him before, it's illegal to sell bongs, and they call them something else to get around the law, and that I forgot what they call them. He doesn't understand why, so I tell him, because Bongs are used for smoking marijuana, and they can be used for tobacco, but no one does that.

Well, when we look around we find out they are called Water Pipes, and that if you even say any of the terms that related to illegal activities, like Bong, Marijuana, or anything of that thing, they kick you out, and you can't joke about it at all.

So my dad is looking at all the Bongs in the store, and he's amazed at all the stuff he sees. After 10 minutes of him looking at bongs, and me looking around in the store, he purchases an 80 dollar bong.

He told me his friend wanted one, I believed him, because my dad wouldn't smoke, but it's really funny, and I thought I'd share this story.

Came home from a party at 2 AM this morning, it was great. I met with my friend Samantha, who had moved into the city recently, and I hope to become good friends with her, she's a really nice person.

I had a great time, talked with some really cool people, and met some cool quirky interesting characters. My friend Nejat was there too, it was a great time. I had some alcohol, and didn't get tipsy, which was a great thing. I don't want New Years happening all over again.

In other news, my keyboards are completely fixed, because my father's a genius, and that's how he rolls. They sound really really nice. My dad told me that the DX7, was the first to specialize in many features, and it cost an ass load, and he was really happy that I got into it.

I'm going to get really good, and make some music for the world to hear.

Exercise!

So I went jogging for the first time in a long time, and I haven't done it for a while either. See, I have asthma, and I've been trying to get rid of it, by regularly doing any strenuous physical activities, that involve my lungs.

I developed asthma, when I went to Turkey a couple years ago, and then I got Bronchitis. It eventually went away, but it turned into permanent bronchial asthma. It's not that bad, I just run out of breathe very fast.

Another issue is my heart. I don't know if I quite have a weak heart, but it seems to be that way. Whenever I do any activity that's of minimum strain, it shoots up, and it takes a while for it to come down. Oh well.

Well yeah, my main story was that, I had never jogged for more than a lap in my entire life. Now I just jogged 6 laps, and I was really impressed with myself. It's probably from all the parkour and exercise before this, but I didn't think it would have helped that much.

Keyboards!

I got 2 new keyboards! Whoo! I'm very happy about this, I really want to learn how to play, and now I'll be able to.

One of them is very big and very heavy, and was very expensive at the time. It's a Yamaha DX7, which apparently revolutionized the 80s music style. I'm not so much into the 80s, but it does release some really awesome sounds.

The other one is a very bare minimum simple keyboard. I looked it up, and one was being sold for 25 dollars on ebay.

The Yamaha used to be worth $2000 dollars, when released, now you can get one around 400 dollars.

Good thing I have an amplifier, because they are synths. They also have MIDI, so if I get a MIDI cable, I can hook it up to my mac, and then really have some fun.

Frisbee

I had a pretty good time yesterday. I woke up a little late, but then I met up with Zach and Michael and we went out to eat at Burger King. After that Allaire came, and then we all went to the high school football field.

At the field, we just threw the frisbee, talking, and played soccer. After we played soccer, we continued to sit around, and the group was around 6 people.

Amanda and Ryan came, but I didn't really get to talk to them that much. They left really soon. Amanda was grounded for very very stupid reasons. She put on her sisters flip flops, and then her sister didn't want that, and she was grounded for that. Maybe I don't know the entire story, but it's still stupid nonetheless.

After the soccer game, we had a tire flipping contest, which was kind of fun. Then we went to my old friend Smores house, and no, that's not her name. We watched You Don't Mess With The Zohan, which I reviewed on this blog, a long ass time ago.

Maybe I should get back into that.

Oh yeah, and my shoes came, and they are great.

Back from Upstate!

After a very short 4 days, I''m very satsified. That doesn't sound very excited, but it is, I assure you, I'm gleaming with ecstatic anticipation.

The house that I stayed at, was absolutely beautiful and huge. It was really nice, I would love to have a house like that. It was so well decorated, and felt very nice. All of the rooms were huge, and it was so comfortable, you had so much space to roam around the house. Very nice.

I went hiking, tubing, saw a movie, went to a concert, and took walks all around. It was great. Hiking was really a lot of fun, and what better to hike, than with your best friend? We had a really great time.

Hiking was really awesome, it was so steep, and we had to work really hard to get up the mountain, but it was worth it. The sight was really beautiful, and I took some really awesome pictures. Hopefully, I'll get those pictures soon, and post them up on Facebook.

Tubing was kind of a drag. We went down some river stream, and it was kind of boring. There was a very low tide, but it was kind of fun nonetheless. I flipped over once or twice, got stuck a lot, and had some "oh shit!" moments.

I also saw Harry Potter, which was okay. I thought it was one of the weakest out of all the films, it was kind of boring, and the drama was really not good. I tried to like it, but eh.

The concert was fun. I saw Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp, and Willie Nelson. They were all great performances live, although it started raining and we left, so we didn't get to finish the whole concert, It was still fun though, we met these 2 crazy drunk girls, who were looking for something we couldn't offer though.

It was a great time.

Going Upstate!

Going upstate today! Some place called Jewitt. Never been there before, but I'm going with Mike, his mom, and his dad, and staying at their uncle and aunts place. I hope for it to be a lot of fun.

I'm leaving at around 7 PM today, and I won't be coming back until at least Sunday. It'll be great to get away for a little bit, it'll do my mind good.

I gotta go do my laundry and start packing!

Fireworks and assholes.

I went to Rockville Centre to see fireworks with some friends the other day. It was really nice besides one part of the specific day. Meaghan, Ronnie and I went to the playground part of the park, and just kind of hung around. After talking with some kids and taking pictures, this guy came from behind me, yanked my head down with my hair and asked "Did you call my son a retard?"

I responded with "No! I don't even know what your talking about!". He then pointed his finger at me, and said "If I ever see you around here or my kid again, that's it", then let go and walked away. While he was walking away I started yelling at him "I don't even know why you did that!" Then he responded with a "Good". Then I yelled at him "You're an asshole, you have no reason, what you did was really stupid."

While this was happening, there were parents and kids all around watching as it happened. When I called him an asshole, he started coming back at me, and I was going to go towards him, but he realized there were people everywhere watching, so he just walked away.

I really wish someone had taken a picture or something. There were police everywhere, but none took notice. There really is no justice.

iPhone!

I got an iPhone! Well, it's an old iphone, about 2 years. It's the old 2G iPhone, but hey, it's still an iphone.

I'm still very happy with it. So now, I want to get rid of my ipod touch, cause they both have the same memory, 8 GB.

Now I need an application to remove all these mosquito bites from my body, and I'll be happy.

Bruno!

I want to go see Bruno, as it opened today. I think it will be good, but not as good as Borat. I saw Bruno in a couple interviews here and there, and it wasn't as funny as Borat, but it still made me laugh.

I also want to go see Harry Potter which is opening next week on Wednesday.

Oh yeah, I'm going upstate with Mike for a week, and we're hopefully going to do some cool stuff, like hiking, hanging out around town, meeting new people and stuff. Hopefully my shoes get here before then.

Deathnote

I'm watching these 2 series of movies called Death Note, and I like them so far. I'm watching the dubbed version, so it's kind of stupid to watch, but it's still a good movie, disregarding that. I really like it.

I started the second one last night, but I got too tired to finish it, so I'm going to watch it later today.

My father is FINALLY cleaning out the garage, and I'm about to go help. It's about time, because there's 2 keyboards in there, that I really want to put into my room, so I can learn how to play the piano. I really want to.

In other news, I've got my own fridge! It's great, I have some things in there that I wanted so I could just eat something whenever I want to.

Great 4th of July.

The concert with Jenny Lewis and Conor Oberst was really good. Jenny Lewis was really amazing, and I recognized most of the music she was playing. She did a fantastic job, and she was all riled up, and had the crowd going. I didn't know she would be that good live. Her voice was also spectacular too. Conor Oberst was okay, but we got really close, and it sounded like a huge wall of noise, and then we left, and it started sounding better from afar.

After the concert, we went to the BBQ party at my friend Nejat's apartment in the city. It was a pretty cool time, and I met 2 new people, that I hope to hang out with in the city some day. Adam and Samantha, they're pretty cool.

Yep, it was a really good day.

Happy 4th of July!

I've got a really nice day lined up. Going to a free concert at Battery Park today in the city. It should be really good. One of my favorite artists, Jenny Lewis, is playing. Another artist, Conor Oberst, is also playing, and he's pretty good as well. I can't wait, because I've really wanted to see her live for a while. I heard she's great live too.

The greatest part, is that's not the end of the day. After the concert, I'm going to my friends penthouse in the city, to chat with wonderful people, and watching amazing fireworks. I'm going with Mike too, so it should be great.

Yeah, I think today is going to be a great day. I'm going to see another friend tomorrow, and those are my plans.

I went to another BBQ yesterday, and it was pretty fun. I cooked, I served, and I played some guitar, talked to some people whom I haven't seen for a while, and watched a movie, 28 Days Later.

Good times. Things are going a lot better, and I'm very content with everything right now. And a certain person is really helping.

Ordered new shoes!

I ordered new shoes online the other day, and I designed them myself! The thing is, it's going to take them at least another 12 days before they get here. At most another 26 days. That's a lot of waiting. But oh well, I can't wait.

They are premiere player shoes, by Converse.

I'm not a big shoe person, but I've been constantly looking at stores all over for the type of converse shoes I want, but I can never find them, so I just made some online, and put them on a wish-list, and asked my dad.

I'm very content!

In other news, tomorrow I have a BBQ to go to, and I'm looking forward to it.
